UAE delegation to 79th UN General Assembly to engage in high-level discussions
HH Sheikh abdullah bin Zayed, UAE’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, is leading the Emirati delegation to the high-level General Debate of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly, taking place in the US from September 24-30.
Under his leadership, the UAE delegation is going to engage in meticulous discussions on pressing global challenges, such as addressing climate change, unhindered humanitarian access, promoting global health and resolving conflicts peacefully.
On this occasion, His Highness underscored the importance of the multilateral system, supporting the UAE’s vision for a more equitable environment. He noted the country’s intention to continue to support initiatives aimed at finding collective solutions to key issues.
UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed on high-profile US visit
This year, the UAE is also participating in the landmark Summit of the Future, a groundbreaking initiative proposed by UN Secretary-General Guterres. The event seeks to revitalise multilateralism, letting the international community to collaborate more comprehensively.
The UAE delegation is also participating in several high-level meetings focused on the humanitarian response in Gaza and Sudan, bridging the digital divide, the future of artificial intelligence, enabling climate action, ending plastic pollution and other topics.
Simultaneously, President HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed is also on a high-profile official visit to the US, the first since assuming the UAE Presidency. His Highness and his US counterpart Joe Biden and VP Kamala Harris have already held meticulous talks.
