Dubai Chambers has recently announced that the Dubai Business Forum-China is set to take place on the 21st and 22nd of this month in Beijing, under the theme: “China, Dubai and Beyond: Igniting Global Trade and Investment.”
The current year also marks the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the UAE-China diplomatic relations. The upcoming forum is expected to play a key role in attracting companies to Dubai and supporting Chinese businesses in leveraging opportunities for expansion.
Shedding light on emerging opportunities in key sectors
The Dubai Business Forum-China is set to hold several panel discussions on topics including innovation in trade and global opportunities for Chinese companies. It is also expected to discuss cooperation in innovation and sustainability, and other high-potential areas.
Lasting a couple of days, the event aims to highlight deeper collaborative opportunities supporting both markets’ ambitions. It is set to have a notable focus on China’s ‘Made in China 2025’ roadmap and the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33).
Moreover, the upcoming forum also plans to shed light on emerging opportunities in key sectors, such as green technology, artificial intelligence, clean energy, healthcare and e-commerce. Keep an eye out as the Gulf Independent team delivers more updates on the event.
Deep-rooted UAE-China diplomatic relations
The planned Dubai Business Forum-China can bring together major stakeholders from the public and private sectors in both the UAE and China. Experts are all set to discuss economic partnerships, develop international relations and explore investment opportunities.
In May, UAE President HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed embarked on a high-profile state visit to China, after concluding a trip to South Korea. He met his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping to discuss ties and opportunities to expand Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
The UAE and China established diplomatic ties in 1984 and have since been close partners. The UAE has a consulate general in Hong Kong and an Embassy in Beijing. China has a consulate general in Dubai and an Embassy in Abu Dhabi.
Recent years have seen a notable increase in bilateral economic and trade cooperation. By 2023, bilateral trade had already reached $95 billion. In 2018, Xi made a state visit to the UAE, becoming the first Chinese head of state to visit the Gulf state in the previous 29 years.
