Check out predictions on UAE fuel prices for July 2024

UAE fuel prices change on the final day of every month and are announced by the federal government via their petroleum firm Emarat. The revised rates come into effect at the beginning of the next month, for example, on July 1, 2024.

UAE petrol and diesel prices noted a slight drop last month. The Gulf Independent team is hooping to see another decline for July. For months, petrol prices steadily increased but finally dropped in June – the first time the price of fuel took a dip since January.

The UAE has long been updating fuel prices on a monthly basis. It corresponds to the nation’s efforts to ensure sustainable development and preserve the environment, helping save economic and social development and provide high quality of life for future.

UAE fuel prices and taxi fare rates share strong links

Subsidies on fuel encourage higher consumption and lesser conservation. Therefore, the UAE links the price of petrol to the price of oil to help rationalise fuel consumption and encourage the use of public transport, besides incentivising the use of alternative fuels.

As UAE fuel prices have continued to rise in the past months, so too have taxi fares. Dubai taxi rides currently cost Dh2.09 per kilometer. But since the national price of petrol has started dropping – is there a chance to see a similar drop in taxi rates too?

Taxi fare rates fluctuate on the basis of a number of different factors, including the cost of fuel. Base fares for taxis remain at Dh12. The overall free at the end of a journey includes the base pair and per kilometre, in addition to the time spent in the car.
