See creativity and culture come together at inaugural Dhai Dubia light art festival

From January 26 to February 4, Expo City Dubai is set to play host to the inaugural edition of Dhai Dubia light art festival. The event at Al Wasl Plaza is aimed at nurturing local talent and presenting their creations to the global community.

See creativity and culture come together during the 10-day show featuring stunning light installations and artworks. The visual extravaganza is expected to give visitors a unique perspective on the UAE’s deep-rooted values and way of life.

Emirati artists participating in Dhai Dubia light art festival

Dhai Dubia is a celebration of light, art and traditions. You can also attend thought-provoking talks by experts for an even more immersive and enriching experience. Emirati artists participating in the inaugural edition of the event has been revealed.

The seven participating artists include,

1. Mattar Bin Lahej, talent behind the calligraphic façade of the Museum of the Future

2. Dr Najat Makki, honored with the French Chevalier of Arts and Letters

3. Emirates Fine Arts Society co-founder Dr Mohamed Yousef

4. Designer Abdulla Almulla, who participated in the London Design Biennale and Dubai Design Week last year

5. Multi-disciplinary artist Maitha Hamdan

6. Esteemed designer Khalid Al Shafar, who has collaborated with LASVIT and the Louvre Abu Dhabi Museum

7. Celebrated visual artist Reem Al Ghaith

UAE home to a vast array of brilliant artists and creatives

The Dhai Dubia light art festival is expected to further strengthen Dubai’s position as a destination for global arts events. The artists set to be a part of the show are believed to play a pivotal role in placing the first edition of the event onto both the local and global stages.

Co-curator Amna Abulhoul said selecting artists wasn’t easy as “the UAE is home to a vast array of brilliant artists and creatives.” “The participating artists each come with their own unique stories that beautifully complement one another, and together tell the story of Dubai.”
