UAE At Asian Games: Gold, Silver And Bronze for Emirates

Asian Games 2023, or the 19th Asian Games, has been making headlines in recent days. The Asian Games is taking place in Hangzhou, People’s Republic of China.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has witnessed a huge victory at the 19th edition of Asian Games. The UAE has won Gold, Bronze and Silvers at the Asian Games.

The Asian Games started on 23 September 2023, and it would conclude on 8 October 2023. One of the biggest sports competitions is organized by the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA).

UAE at Asian Games

Omar Al-Marzouqi, a rider from the United Arab Emirates, has won a silver medal. Abdulla Al-Marri, an Emirati athlete who competes in jumping, won bronze in the individual

championship.The UAE also won one gold and three silvers from the three jiu-jitsu finals. The competition took place at the Xiaoshan Linpu Gymnasium on Thursday. The Jiu-Jitsu team won four more medals.

Khaled Al Shehi won a gold medal by defeating Khalid Al Balooshi in the 62-kilogram weight. Balqees Abdulla, Mohamed Al Suwaidi, and Khalid Al Blooshi won silvers at the Xiaoshan Linpu Gymnasium JJI. Khalid Al Balooshi was credited by the UAEJJF for his performance. Mohamed Salem Al Dhaheri, Deputy Chairman of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation and Head of the Mission to China, lauded the UAE for achieving great results at Asian Games 2023.

Sheikha Fatima bint Hazza bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, chairwoman of the board of directors of the Fatima bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy, said that the UAE was proud of UAE’s athletes.
On Friday, Asma Alhosani created history by becoming the first woman to secure a gold medal for the UAE in martial arts at the Asian Games 2023. It was the third gold overall for the UAE in Hangzhou. After winning the competition, she said, “I have been preparing for this moment for four years.” Asma Alhosani further said, “It was the proudest moment of my life when the UAE flag was raised today in China.”

Marina Ribeiro, coach of the UAE national women’s team, lauded Asma Alhosani’s talent and focus at the competition.
