1 Billion Followers Summit: Ruler of Dubai unveils Dh150 million fund to support content creators

Dubai is currently hosting the two-day 1 Billion Followers Summit at Emirates Towers and Museum of the Future. The event, set to conclude on Thursday, marks a gathering of some of the top social media influencers and content creators across the globe.

The summit features at least 3,000 attendees, 100 speakers and more than 300 companies from the technology and social media landscape. Meanwhile, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid has made notable announcements concerning the growing sector.

Solidifying UAE’s position as a global capital for digital content

The Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai has unveiled a fund valued at Dh150 million to support content creators and transform the digital media sector. In addition, he has also instructed the establishment of a permanent influencers’ headquarters, as per Emirates News Agency.

The new headquarters, a collaboration between the UAE Government Media Office and the New Media Academy, is aimed at bringing together top influencers and content creators from different countries and providing year-round support.

The news agency further reported that the Dh150 million fund seeks to support the development of creative and impactful content, help creators hone their skills and introduce the UAE story, its achievements and cultural contributions to global markets.

UAE’s Minister of Cabinet Affairs, Mohammad Al Gergawi, said the fund is dedicated to solidifying the country’s position as a global capital for digital content, in addition to supporting content creators and offering them exceptional opportunities to grow.

One goal: More purposeful content

The 1 Billion Followers Summit is about two full days of enthralling sessions, including workshops, networking opportunities and educational keynotes by several prominent speakers showcasing their inspirations, insights and journey.
