Qatar has commenced preparations for Web Summit Qatar 2026, signaled as one of the largest tech events in the Middle East. The summit is planned for Doha from February 1 to 4. A planning meeting took place in Dublin between the Permanent Web Summit Organizing Committee and Web Summit leadership.
The planning session was chaired by HE Sheikh Jassim bin Mansour Al-Thani, Director of the Government Communications Office and included senior representatives from Qatar’s Interior Ministry, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Qatar Investment Authority, Qatar Airways, and Paddy Cosgrave, CEO of Web Summit.
During the meeting, the committee assessed the previous 2025 edition of Web Summit Qatar, which attracted in excess of 25,000 attendees, a 67% increase from its first edition. The aim of the planning committee is to attract 30,000 participants in 2026. This entails higher quality speakers and increased participation from other global countries while also aligning the summit with Qatar National Vision 2030.
Web Summit Qatar allowed local start-ups, jobs were created, and the ranking of Qatar’s startup ecosystem increased internationally. Web Summit Qatar now represents a leading driver for digital transformation, international partnerships and places Doha as a global centre for innovation.
