According to the source, the UAE Cabinet made the decision several weeks ago to extend a one-time visit visa for a maximum of 30 days. This decision is being carried out.

The authority permits foreign visitors to extend their visas for a maximum of 30 days when using the “UAEICP” smart application through smart channels.

According to the source, a personal color photo and the original entry permit are needed in order to use the service.

The value of the visa fees to visit a relative or friend for a period of 30 days and once only is Dh750, which includes Dh500 for the issuance fee, Dh100 for the application, Dh100 for smart services, and Dh50 for insurance and authority fees. The authority states that in order to extend the visa, the sponsored person must be present in the country and the passport must be valid for at least six months.

The authority has indicated on its website that in order to issue a visa for a visitor to see a friend or relative, the visitor must meet certain requirements. These include being a friend or relative of a citizen or foreign national who is residing in the nation in accordance with the authority’s provisions, providing proof of kinship and a reason for the visit, and meeting the financial guarantee specified by the purpose of the visit.

According to the authority, all that needs to be done is finish the application process, enter the identity of the sponsored person who will be using the service, attach the necessary documents, and pay the required fees. Once you choose the service for issuing a visit visa for a relative or friend through the application according to its duration, all the data of the individual hosted in the country appears automatically.

The authority further stated that if the application is returned for any reason—for example, incomplete documents or inaccurate data—it will be rejected electronically after 30 days. In addition, should the application be returned three times for incomplete or inaccurate data, it will be automatically rejected.

According to the authority, fees can be refunded by credit card no later than six months from the date the application was submitted, or they can be refunded by following the procedures for recovering fees by cheque or bank transfer (for domestic banks only) within five years.
