UAE President engages in key talks involving Microsoft, BlackRock and Nvidia CEOs

President HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed is in the US in his first official trip to the country since assuming the UAE Presidency. He and his US counterpart Joe Biden affirmed the enduring bilateral relationship and discussed global and regional matters.

On Tuesday, His Highness held meetings involving Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, BlackRock CEO Larry Fink and Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang to discuss the rapid advancements in modern technology and artificial intelligence, according to reports.

The meetings focused on the opportunities presented by these technological developments and the deepening UAE-US collaboration in the sector. Existing cooperation includes the recent Microsoft-G42 partnership and a key Global AI Infrastructure Investment Partnership.

UAE and US understand the potential of artificial intelligence

Sheikh Mohamed emphasised the UAE’s firm commitment to investing in artificial intelligence and advanced technology to support the nation’s development ambitions. He stressed the need to strengthen international cooperation and ensure responsible use.

The chief executives of the three prominent multinational corporations expressed their keen interest in continuing their collaboration ith the UAE in advanced technology, admitting the significance of the Emirates’ artificial intelligence strategy.

The UAE and the US understand the potential of modern technology. Building on the vision of Mohamed bin Zayed and Joe Biden to advance safe artificial intelligence, both sides released a joint statement on Monday to reaffirm cooperation on technology.

UAE President meets Emirati students and NASA graduates

During the official trip to the US, His Highness also talked to Emirati students studying at universities in the US, and Emirati astronauts Nora al-Matrooshi and Mohammad al-Mulla – recently graduated from NASA’s astronaut training programme.

Sheikh Mohamed enquired about the students’ progress, learn about their fields of specialisation, and noted his commitment to providing all necessary support to ensure their academic success, according to official reports.

The UAE leader also reiterated that investment in young people today is the best method to shape the country’s future. He explained that the students should consider themselves ambassadors for their country, urging them to hold on to their identity and values.
