UAE President and King of Bahrain reaffirm historical ties of solidarity linking both countries

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the UAE, and His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain discussed the fraternal ties between the two countries and addressed several matters of joint concern in a meeting on Friday.

In Manama, the leaders discussed their common strategic vision towards enhancing security and stability in the region. They spoke about their common goals over a lunch meeting and ways to bolster joint action on behalf of the entire GCC region.

King Hamad praised the level of cooperation on display between the two countries and stressed his interest in enhancing these relations. During the trip, the UAE president visited the Royal Guard headquarters, where he was briefed on its facilities and annexes.

Sheikh Mohamed penned a message in the visitor’s book: “It is a pleasure to visit the Royal Guard’s headquarters, a key pillar of Bahrain’s national framework, emblematic of the nation’s strong defence and its contributions to security and stability locally and regionally.”

His Highness also met the family of Major Abdullah Al Nuaimi, a Bahraini officer who died in a recent terrorist attack in Somalia that also claimed the lives of four UAE Armed Forces members. His Majesty, in turn, expressed his condolences over the martyrs of the UAE.

Historical ties of solidarity and brotherhood

The Emirati leader highlighted the strengthening of fraternal relations between the UAE and Bahrain, noting that the relationship between the two countries stands as a cornerstone of collective Gulf and Arab initiatives and reflects their aligned perspectives.

Reflecting on the visit in a post on X, he said: “Today, I met my brother, His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, in the sister Kingdom of Bahrain,” adding that the discussions in Manama touched on their joint ambitions for continued progress to benefit our peoples.”
