UAE celebrates its 52nd National Day this year, and this will be the final official holiday of the year.
On Wednesday, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization announced that private sector workers in the United Arab Emirates would receive two official holidays in honour of the country’s National Day.
The private sector will get paid days off on December 2 and 3, according to a statement from MOHRE on X, formerly known as Twitter. The dates won’t translate into an extended break because they fall over the Saturday and Sunday weekend.

Employees in the public and private sectors were given an extra day off on December 1st of last year to observe Commemoration Day, which was formerly known as Martyrs’ Day. In 2022, residents received an additional three days off in addition to the National Day holidays. This year, though, that is not the case. This year’s Friday, December 1st, is a working day.
The 52nd UAE Union Day event will take place at Expo City.
Ahead of the 52nd UAE Union Day on December 2, the organising committee has released information about the formal ceremony. The official ceremony, which takes place at Expo City in Dubai, highlights the UAE’s sustainability journey from its union in 1971 to the present while weaving an inspiring tale of solidarity and group effort.
Residents will enjoy a three-day break at the end of 2023 and the beginning of the new year. Monday, January 1, 2024, is a paid holiday in the United States. In addition to the Saturday and Sunday weekend, that equates to three days off to begin 2024.
The United Arab Emirates celebrates National Day, also known as UAE Union Day, on December 2 of each year to commemorate the unification of the Emirates in 1971.
The official Union Day show, which tells the story of the nation’s sustainability, will take place at Expo City Dubai.
