Few states are highlighted and tacitly pitted into any armistice and/or conflict that may have arisen (or would rise), regardless of the lack of facts that could provide evidence of participation. One state with that much significant presence regionally and internationally is the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
In the past decade, the UAE has established itself as a global powerhouse, with influences all over the world it is no surprise these assumptions of its involvement irrespective of positive or negative outlook would occur. As history has shown, either on an individual level or as an institution, the influential party is either praised or criticized on all accounts it could be tied to.
With the world’s eyes set in the Middle East and North African region, the UAE has been targeted on various smear campaigns, some of which would be articulated by institutions with political agenda in which it hopes to discredit the Gulf nation’s primary goal which is to establish peace and stability in the region specifically and on a general sense accomplish the same feat on an international level.
Regionally, The UAE has led a historical normalization of relations with a regional pariah state, Israel, which saw other Arab/Muslim nations follow suit; led the initial rapprochement negotiations with Iran after a several year hiatuses between Iran and several Arab nations. Internationally (and most recently), it has successfully mediated several hostage exchanges between conflicted states; provided humanitarian aids for any country that has faced disaster/conflict or suffering of food/medical shortages.
The 52-year-old nation has managed to attract millions of people with different cultural and religious backgrounds in which a lot has called the UAE their home. Further, it has established itself as a hub for advancements on numerous fields, such as space, technology, and medicine. The UAE remarkably pushed the World’s Green Initiative with a tremendous pledge in which it hopes to preserve the world and its resources for the benefit of future generations.
The UAE’s message to the world is “Tolerance”, which it firmly has conducted all its policies around, set the horizon on an endless reliance of one another leaving behind all differences and discriminations in pursuance of a more stable and beneficial future for all. With current world affairs, the UAE depicts that of “Al Ghaf tree”. Though it’s natural habitat is a very harsh environment, it is more than capable of outgrowing and sustaining itself through limited means.
