The legacy of hope continues as the Terry Fox Run Dubai returns for its 2026 edition. This historic community event is planned to be held on a Saturday, January 24, 2026, and again cover the scenic roads in Expo City, Dubai. Organized in partnership with the Al Jalila Foundation, the run aims to bring together thousands of residents, students, and fitness enthusiasts to support cancer research fundraising in the UAE. This is an especially memorable year because Fred Fox, the brother to Terry, will be present to encourage the participants. It is non-competitive, which also means that whether you are a serious runner or a family wanting to have a meaningful weekend get-together, this event will invite everyone to walk, run or wheel to a cure and carry on with Terry in his Marathon of Hope in the heart of the Middle East. for more news updates, visit our Gulf Independent News page.
Participating in the Expo City Event
The Expo City event promises a vibrant atmosphere starting at 10:00 AM (registration/gathering often begins earlier, around 8:00 AM). The course passes through the futuristic pavilions and Al Forsan Park, providing the course with a distinctive background of the cause. It is also not restricted to any age or ability since the participants have the option to select the distance, which is usually 2.5km or 5km loop. Registration and donations are used directly to fund various cancer research efforts in the area and this way, each action performed will aid in a cancer-free future.
Impact of Terry Fox Run Dubai
Since its inception in 1994, the Terry Fox Run Dubai has become a staple in the city’s philanthropic calendar. The event has brought people together to research important health issues by raising millions of dollars under one banner. The fact that Fox family will be there this year highlights the international nature of this movement. The people are advised to show their Terry Fox t-shirts with pride as they understand that they are part of a global movement that knows no borders because of combating a disease that is such a widespread problem.
