UAE Vice President Sheikh Mansour Travels to Saudi Arabia for Fraternal Visit at Invitation of Defence Minister

His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan will make a fraternal visit to Saudi Arabia on the 29th Day of the Month of Ramadan, the year 1441 of the Islamic Calendar. The Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Defence, Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud invited the trip.

Sheikh Mansour’s Visit to Saudi Arabia

The visit is a capstone for this senior-level dialogue between the UAE and Saudi Arabia as the two Gulf states build closer ties in a top-tier exchange of high-level dialogue. This invitation for Prince Khalid bin Salman to call on Sheikh Mansour was made by Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Defence, it said.

The UAE state news agency called the visit a “fraternal visit,” a due name for an ambiance officially designated. Sheikh Mansour is also Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister of the UAE and Chair of the Presidential Court.

UAE-Saudi Relations and Regional Engagement

The visit is part of a series of official contacts between the two capitals, Abu Dhabi and Riyadh. In the previous couple of days in September, Sheikh Mansour along with various other UAE leaders, expressed congratulations to Saudi Arabia’s King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on the Kingdom’s National Day.

Saudi Arabia’s involvement in the region has been active in the field of defence and security too. In the past few days, Prince Khalid bin Salman has met his defense counterpart from around the world as well as other regional counterparts to discuss defence cooperation and the developments in the region, and he calls on the defense minister of Malaysia as well.
