Hemeida Takes Gold, Ibrahim Secures Bronze for Qatar at Asian Games

Bassem Hemeida Wins 400m Hurdles Gold

Bassem Hemeida set a 47.82-second time to win the 400m hurdles race. Taiju Goto of Japan came in second in 47.93s and Chung-wei Lin of China Taipei was bronze in 48.74s.

The final format was tightly contested, with Hemeida’s move through the race followed by a big push in the final stages only to make history by breaking the final. The win was a helping improvement to the silver he won in the event in the previous Asian Games held in Hangzhou.
