The beautiful sands of Muscat, Oman are a buzz these days as the 10th Asian Men’s and Women’s Beach Handball Championship commences from May 6 to May 15, 2025. This event represents not just medals but an opportunity for teams to qualify for the 2026 Beach Handball World Championships.
Who’s playing?
Men’s Championship
Group A: Oman, Saudi Arabia, Hong Kong, and Maldives
Group B: Iran, Philippines, Jordan, Pakistan, and India
Women’s Championship:
China Vietnam, Philippines, Hong Kong, and India
The official draw was held on February 24, 2025 at the City Seasons Hotel in Muscat. This year, there are new teams making their first appearances: Jordan and Maldives in the men’s Championship.
The championship was held in Bali in 2023 where Qatar’s men and Vietnam’s women won the top prizes. Now, as we move into the 2025 edition, Asia’s top teams will face off and remain on the beach as they seek the title and on to the world championships.
Oman Championship Offers Entry to World Stage
After Qatar’s men and Vietnam’s women won the title at the 2023 championship held in Bali; this 2025, the attention is on Oman after Asian teams have their eyes locked on standing above the rest for the opportunity to play on the world’s grandest stage next year.
