The board discussed the engineering solutions used to negotiate the route’s varied terrains during the meeting, which resulted in a 25% reduction in tunnel construction and a 50% reduction in bridge construction.

The Oman-Etihad Rail project consists of multiple bridges that are 34 metres high and tunnels that are 2.5 kilometres long.

In addition, specific hydrological remedies were implemented to tackle diverse meteorological circumstances throughout the network.

The board also looked at the status of tenders for different parts of the project, such as systems, locomotives, trailers, and civil infrastructure.
