Good news for commuters in Dubai and Sharjah! The marine transport service between the two emirates is set to resume on August 4.
The service, known as Dubai Ferry, will operate eight trips a day on weekdays and six trips on weekends.
The Dubai Ferry will connect Al Ghubaiba Marine Station in Dubai with Aquarium Marine Station in Sharjah, making it the first marine service of its kind between Dubai and other emirates. The journey between the two stations takes about 35 minutes.
On weekdays, there will be two morning trips from Sharjah at 7 am and 8:30 am and one morning trip from Dubai at 7:45 am. In the evening, there will be two trips from Sharjah at 4:45 pm and 6:15 pm, and three trips from Dubai at 4 pm, 5:30 pm, and 7 pm.
During the weekends (Friday to Sunday), there will be six trips in total, with three trips from each side starting from noon.
Departure times from Sharjah will be at 2 pm, 4 pm, and 6 pm, while the journeys from Dubai will start at 3 pm, 5 pm, and 8 pm.
The ticket fares for a single journey are quite affordable at Dhs15 for Silver Class and Dhs25 for Gold Class. However, People of Determination and children under five can enjoy the ferry ride for free.
Commuters have the option to pay the fare at the Customer Services Desk at the station or use their ‘nol’ card for payment. For added convenience, tickets can also be purchased online through this link.
