After a pause of four years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the English National Ballet has made a victorious return with its production of “Cinderella,” one of the company’s most significant shows.
The performance takes place at London’s iconic Royal Albert Hall, which has been transformed into an enchanting forest filled with gnomes, woodland creatures, and over 90 ballet dancers.
The production of “Cinderella” has garnered significant attention, with ticket sales up 20% compared to 2019. The audience, comprising around 4,000 spectators, surrounds the large circular performance space, creating an immersive experience for viewers.
The demand for art and cultural experiences is evident, and people are eagerly embracing the return of live performances.
One of the highlights of the show is the debut of 28-year-old Precious Adams, a U.S.-born ballerina, in the lead role of Cinderella.
Adams expresses the importance of art in people’s lives, particularly during challenging times. After being put on furlough during the pandemic, she feared she might never have the opportunity to perform in front of an audience again.
Therefore, being able to dance on such a prestigious stage with a rich cultural history, like the Royal Albert Hall, holds special significance for her.
