Director-producer Rakesh Roshan has provided an update on the progress of the fourth installment of the popular Indian superhero film franchise, Krrish.
In an interview, Roshan expressed concerns about the audience’s reluctance to return to theaters due to the ongoing pandemic.
He emphasized that Krrish, with a budget of ₹200-300 crore, aims to compete with Hollywood superhero films made on budgets of $500-600 million.
Roshan discussed the challenge of maintaining high-quality visual effects and action sequences within the budget constraints.
Rakesh Roshan confirmed that Krrish 4 is definitely in the works, but its timing depends on the evolving situation in the film industry.
He noted that while they are ready to proceed, the current scenario of films not performing well at the box office and collections not meeting production costs has led to a delay. He mentioned that the film might not start shooting for at least a year.
The Krrish franchise, led by Hrithik Roshan, has garnered a significant fan following over the years. The third installment was released in 2013 and featured Hrithik Roshan, Priyanka Chopra, Kangana Ranaut, and Vivek Oberoi. The franchise follows the adventures of Krishna, who inherits superhuman abilities from his father and saves the world from villains.
