Is Cristiano Ronaldo retiring soon? It could mean the end of a glorious era

One of the most prominent footballers across the globe, Cristiano Ronaldo recently reached a remarkable tally of 910 official goals and continues to inch closer to the 1,000-goal milestone. It came during a match against Poland in the Uefa Nations League on Saturday.
The Portugal team finished strong against the Polish. The scorecard read 5-1 at the end of the match. It’s the fifth matchday of the competition and Ronaldo contributed a couple of goals, including an acrobatic bicycle kick and an assist.
Through the stunning triumph, the Portuguese footballer gained his 132nd victory in the national team, surpassing his former Real Madrid teammate Sergio Ramos’ 131. CR7 became the player carrying the most number of victories in the history of international football.
Does Ronaldo see himself as a coach after his retirement?
Despite the Portugese side’s victory against Poland, Cristiano Ronaldo’s post-match comments captured sizeable attention as he mentioned a possible timeline for his retirement from the pitch. So, is the footballer gonna hang his boots before the 2026 Fifa cup?
Retirement has to happen in one or a couple of years, he noted, adding that he is going to turn 40 soon and that as long as he feels motivated, he is ready to continue. “The day I don’t feel motivated, I’ll retire,” he stated.
Does the Portugese superstar see himself as a coach after his retirement? Probably not. “I don’t see myself managing a team; it is not in my plans … My future lies in other areas outside of football, though time will tell what happens,” Ronaldo added.
