Debanjali Kamstra, a businesswoman originally from India who has been living in the UAE for 15 years, has emerged victorious in the Mrs Earth UAE 2023 competition. She is a mother-of-two children.
Debanjali competed against 20 other contestants in Dubai and secured the title. Her win grants her the opportunity to represent the UAE in the global Mrs Earth 2023 competition, scheduled to take place in Manila from Tuesday until July 23.
Notably, the Mrs Earth contest focuses on environmental issues and is distinct from the Miss Earth pageant that has been running since 2001.
Kamstra’s previous pageant experience includes participating in the Mrs World 2022 pageant held in Las Vegas, where she narrowly missed the crown and was named the second runner-up among 72 contestants. Shaylyn Ford from Mrs America claimed the Mrs World 2022 title, with Mrs Jordan Jaclyn Stapp as the first runner-up.
Motivated by her strong performance at Mrs UAE and her desire for a second chance, Kamstra aims to make a lasting impact at Mrs Earth.
Due to the limited time for preparation, she has decided to wear the same national costume she donned at Mrs World.

The elaborate dress, created by Filipino designer Cary Santiago, is inspired by the falcon, the national bird of the UAE.
The dress reflects Dubai’s reputation as the “city of gold.” It had previously received the Most Exotic Costume award at the Mrs World 2022 pageant.
Kamstra’s decision to showcase the dress again not only highlights its unique design but also pays homage to the UAE and its ties to the Philippines through the designer.
She believes it will be well-received at the Mrs Earth contest in Manila and hopes to make a positive impact on the judges and audience.
After winning the Mrs Earth UAE 2023 competition, Debanjali Kamstra has become the first beauty queen to represent the UAE in the global Mrs Earth pageant.
Her presence at these high-profile events brings attention to the importance of recognizing and appreciating the individuality of married women and gives her a voice to promote environmental problems.
