UAE President HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed has sent a message of congratulations to President Zardari of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan on the occasion of his country’s 77th Independence Day on August 14.
HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and HH Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court, have also dispatched similar messages on the occasion.
Pakistan Independence Day celebration in UAE
Dubai recently hosted a 77th Pakistan Independence Day celebration. The event – attended by Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, and Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, ambassador of Pakistan to the UAE – highlighted UAE-Pakistan relations.
During the celebration that lured more than 10,000 attendees, the Emirati minister highlighted the deep-rooted ties shared by the UAE and Pakistan, emphasising the commitment of both countries to nurturing and strengthening their relationship.
The event highlighted the rich cultural diversity of Pakistan, featuring several performances, including traditional music and dance, besides exhibitions of Pakistani handicrafts. It also celebrated the Pakistani community’s contributions to the UAE’s development.
Honouring distinguished Pakistani individuals
The recent 77th Pakistan Independence Day celebration in Dubai reflected the historical relations and strategic partnership both countries share. The UAE is keen to support sustainable development in Pakistan through the implementation of several major projects.
In a special ceremony, Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak honoured a number of distinguished Pakistani individuals for their significant contributions. The event honoured prominent Pakistani athletes like squash champion Jahangir Khan.
The Emirates Loves Pakistan event also recognised the impact Chef Chaudary abdul Hameed, founder of Ravi Restaurant, has on Dubai’s culinary scene. Mudassir Sheikha, co-founder of Careem, also received accolades for revolutionising the transportation sector.
