Dubai Orchestra Approved to Elevate Emirati Music Globally

Dubai has unveiled the Dubai Orchestra, a new musical initiative that intends to showcase Emirati talent on a global stage. The programme has the full support of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority and was authorized under the chairmanship of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. We are seeing a marked interest in nurturing various aspects, including art and culture, that homegrown creativity, innovation, and tradition bring to the UAE.

The ambition of the Dubai Orchestra is to be the embodiment of the nation’s spirit. The Dubai Orchestra encourages aspiring musicians and composers from throughout the Emirates to join as representatives of the soul of the nation through music. In addition to showcasing artistic practice, the Dubai Orchestra aims to act as a cultural ambassador for Dubai, both within the UAE and abroad, showcasing the identity of the UAE.

I am proud that the Dubai Orchestra will create pathways to address the development of youth and celebrate the increasingly diverse and eclectic cultural fabric and scene of the UAE. 

The Dubai Orchestra is not limited to being just an orchestral ensemble built on sound. It seeks to, will be an agent and an opportunity for those next-generation Emirati musicians and artists to have a voice on the global landscape. Now that the orchestra is officially born and in development, it will be a cornerstone in the cultural totem and diplomatic landscape of the UAE.
