The CEO of a tech firm has found himself in the middle of a huge scandal involving cheating after he was caught on camera kissing a female staff member during a Coldplay concert. The story has become a hit on social media, and many have started speculating on an affair between the married CEO and the HR director of the company.

This week, Andy Byron, the CEO of tech startup Astronomer, was captured on camera embracing Kristin Cabot, the chief people officer in his company, at a Coldplay concert. Soon, the scene was shown on the Jumbotron in the stadium.

The kissing episode occurred at the Gillette Stadium in Massachusetts, where Coldplay carried out their performances on Tuesday and Wednesday. When the camera was drawn to Byron and Cabot both, people can see them hugging together with their backs. Even the lead singer of Coldplay, Chris Martin, had something to say about the situation, commenting with the words, “Oh, you two, and making just a joke”, saying, “Either they are having an affair or they are just very shy.”

As soon as the CEO and employee understood that they were featured on the big screen, they ran away. But it was too late because fans captured the act and gained popularity on social media sites.

Wife Removes Husband’s Name from Social Media After Cheating Allegations

Since the kissing video went viral, Byron’s wife, Megan Kerrigan Byron, has been under public scrutiny. Both of them, aged 50, live in Northborough, Massachusetts, and are parents with two little sons.

After the cheating scandal, Byron’s wife went to change the name of her husband in her Facebook profile and even deactivated her account after some time. People left comments under her social media posts to show her that they feel sorry to be in her kind of situation.

One of the Facebook commentators put it this way: “I do hope that she is receiving support and love from the people around her, who understand that she is at the receiving end of intimidation and bullying, should she see all this and it is new to her.”

Company Stays Silent as Scandal Grows

Astronomer is a data infrastructure startup worth over $1 billion that has not been able to comment on the incident of its CEO kissing an employee. The company has headquarters in New York City since last year and reached the status in 2022.

Neither Byron nor Cabot has said anything concerning the cheating allegation. As of Thursday afternoon, the LinkedIn page of Byron was deleted, which indicates that he does not want to be in focus of the scandal anymore.

This kissing video has raised a lot of debate on relations at the workplace and professional ethics. Most social media users have attacked the actions of the CEO, particularly considering that he is a married man and that it was a publicized event.

This cheating scandal finds references to the speed at which private moments turn out to be posted publicly in the social media-saturated contemporary society. This night out to a Coldplay concert has become a big controversy to the marriage, reputation of the employee and possibly an image problem to the company handled by the CEO.
