Can Sheikh Zayed Festival's NYE Celebrations Break Four Records?

Running for nearly four months, the annual Sheikh Zayed Festival in Abu Dhabi is one of the country’s largest cultural events, named in honour of UAE Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

It is set to welcome visitors every day until March 9, from 4 pm to midnight on weekdays and until 1 am during weekends and public holidays, offering people a great opportunity to spend joyful and memorable times with family and friends.

Series Of Crazy New Attractions At Sheikh Zayed Festival

This year, the Sheikh Zayed Festival’s New Year’s Eve could set four Guinness World Records. A show involving 5,000 drones will attempt to break one record, and a one-hour fireworks display will aim to break three others, covering time, quantity and design intricacy.

New attractions at the festival include a Chinese market, a camping village and a Flying Cup experience – and other returning highlights include a small zoo, face painting, VR games, talent competitions, and rides, other games and attractions.

There is even a Crazy Car arena fitted out with safe cars for small children. Adrenaline-seekers can visit the House of Horror, inspired by Disney’s ‘Haunted Mansion’, that got released this year and stars Jared Leto and Tiffany Haddish.

Besides the potentially record-breaking fireworks and drone shows, organisers of the Sheikh Zayed Festival said more activities have been planned for December 31, including a massive laser show, one of the largest of its kind in the region.

Hefty Discounts, Incredible Dining Experience, Live Music

As visitors ring in the new year, they will also be able to watch 100,000 colourful balloons being released into the sky, amid live DJs and music performers creating a celebratory mood. Giant screens outside the festival square are set to broadcast the events and activities.
