Forbes has released the Forbes list of Top 100 Middle East CEOs of 2026 and 11 business leaders from Qatar have secured the spot in the Forbes Middle East Top 100 CEOs 2026 ranking. Forbes has recognised these leaders for their international business expansion, leadership, and economic growth contribution.

The executives come from key industries like energy, banking, telecom, insurance, maritime logistic and financial services/economic development. Their presence signals Qatar’s rising footprints locally and globally in the business world.

Al-Kaabi and Al-Khalifa Lead Qatar’s Representation

Deputy Chairman, President and CEO of QatarEnergy, Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi took sixth place. His leadership has coincided with Qatar’s goals of growing its international energy production and investments in offshore exploration.

Abdulla Mubarak Al-Khalifa, Group CEO of QNB Group, was ranked at number eight amongst the list of the top executives in the Middle East. With operations in over 28 countries, QNB covers Qatar’s leading position in the Middle East as a regional banking hub.

Banking and Finance Dominate

There is a substantial proportion of Qatar’s representation in the financial services sector. The diversity of Qatar’s financial sector is best shown by the variety of leadership positions held by QIB, Doha Bank, Dukhan Bank, QIC, QFC and QDB.

Their achievements span digital banking and Islamic finance to innovation in insurance applications and bringing international businesses to Qatar’s financial centre, among other initiatives.

Technology, Logistics and Economic Diversification

The ranking also points to Qatar’s general diversification approach. Ooredoo has been managed by Aziz Aluthman Fakhroo’s telecommunications and digital transformation, Nakilat has played the lead part in international LNG shipping operations led by Abdullah Al-Sulaiti.

Meanwhile, Qatar authorities at both Qatar Free Zones Authority and Qatar Development Bank are encouraging investment, entrepreneurship, logistics and SME development furthering Qatar’s ambitions beyond hydrocarbons.

Qatar’s Position in the Regional Ranking

The list of Qatar’s 11 executives is joined by a larger regional leadership community. In the top 50, Egyptians took the second top spot with 15 executives, followed by 31 spots of Emiratis and 13 spots of Saudi.

The largest representing industry in total was banking. This is particularly the case for Qatar’s impressive performance, as it continues to develop into a more diversified international business hub while strengthening its financial sector.
