Dubai Police Eid parking fines

Dubai Police has warned motorists with a big traffic alert ahead of Eid Al Adha prayers, as thousands of worshippers switch off their cars and board buses to make their way to places of worship in the emirate. The late entry of vehicles into the studio flats around the prayer grounds will be that of a strict observance during the festive season, authorities said.

More than 33,000 offences for wrong parking have been spotted in the past festive seasons, officials said. Hence, parks in smart police and patrol teams will be deployed to congested prayer sites throughout Dubai police with extra focus on ensuring emergency access to the premises in a bid to reduce bottom-of-the-harp emergencies.

The warning refers to motorists who obstruct the entrances of mosques and emergency exits, sidewalks, pedestrian paths, and access roads to residences. Police emphasized “for a few minutes” to park during prayer does not excuse him or her from paying a significant amount of money, and pursuant to the activity, it may be possible to confiscate the vehicle.

Strict Eid Parking Enforcement Across Dubai

The arrest campaign aims to enhance traffic flow and boost safety on the roads as one of the busiest mornings of the year, Dubai Police said. It’s expected that there will be heavy crowds at the major prayer grounds for Eid across Deira, Bur Dubai, Al Barsha and Dubai Media City.

Active monitoring and automated mobile cameras will be deployed to monitor roads around prayer sites and mosques. All vehicles littering the road will be electronically marked on the spot and will incur on-the-spot fines.

The illegal parking of vehicles often prevents ambulances, Civil Defence vehicles and rescue vehicles from rapidly reaching overcrowded areas, authorities explained. This is why, for this Eid, violations in the emergency zones are being classified as high priority violations.

Fines and Vehicle Seizure Rules You Need to Know

A motorist could be fined from AED 500 for blocking neighbouring houses to the mosque’s entrance, motorway driveways or public access. Double parking and parking in pedestrian walkways will be subject to the same ticketing.

If the driver chooses to park in an Emergency lane / Civil Defence access lane, they will be penalised even more severely. Parking in these designated spaces may lead to fines of AED 1000 and six black points will be issued for the driver’s record, Dubai Police said.

It was also reported that vehicles which cause “serious obstruction” may be towed without warning. The drivers would then have to cover the charges for towing, storage charges and any fines for traffic violations before getting the car back.

Dubai’s Mosque Parking Grace Period

The mosque car parking system in Dubai is limited to a 15 to 45 minute period during prayer times. Parking in the public areas around designated prayer areas is liberated 15 minutes before the call to prayer time and will stay limited for 45 minutes after the prayer time.

After the grace period, standard parking rates will begin once more via the city’s electronic parking system. Vehicles parked over the stipulated period of time may be meted out automatic tickets if the drivers don’t switch on paid parking.

The officials encouraged people to be cautious while assuming the exemption period for parking during Eid because the smart parking systems are still functioning on Eid holiday weekend.

Smart Tips to Avoid Eid Parking Fines

Dubai Police says worshippers should leave home as early as possible, and attend worship at full facilities at least 30-45 minutes before the call to prayer. Arriving early increases the likelihood of having legal parking, and decreases traffic stress.

When a mosque parking area is full, locals are advised to park in a commercial parking lot or designated area for parking with the trashday bins instead of illegally on road sides or pavements.

Authorities also suggest enabling digital payment methods like Parkin app, SMS parking service, WhatsApp parking, no cards and the Dubai Now app to ensure quick validation and no penalties for parking.

Drivers should ensure the vehicle is completely stopped within the marked lines and not obstruct any roadways, walkways or fireways prior to leaving the vehicle.
