UAE holds exercise to boost readiness in case of epidemics
In an effort to fortify the UAE’s defence against any outbreaks of infectious diseases, the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) recently led a tabletop exercise involving more than 20 entities.
Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Health and Prevention, and the General Civil Aviation Authority were among the string of entities involved.

The exercise ensured the efficacy of measures enacted by the respective entities, with each one of them harnessing their unique capabilities.
Central to the exercise was a collective effort to derive insights from the global precautionary and preventive responses to different epidemics and pandemics.
Long and careful discussions revolved around enhancing the efficiency of communication channels and effective circulation of information across the concerned authorities.

Moreover, participants examined the world of media procedures, analysing the different means to effectively convey data and measures to the public amid diverse situations that may pop up.
NCEMA Chairman Ali Saeed Al Neyadi highlighted the importance of assessing prior protocols,operations and lessons collected, revealing the country’s intent to craft a phenomenal global Emirati framework for addressing disasters of varying complexities.
